100 WC Showcase Week 14

Bailey wrote a 100 Word Challenge entry that needed to include '…I put my hand in the box and felt…'. His work was 'Showcased' on the 100 Word challenge website.

I was playing football on the field with my friends. Then i found a box in the middle of the field and I put my hand in the box and felt it. I found a new premier league football with new customized sock boots inside the box. Next, i ran home and showed my mum and my dad and they said “wow how did you find them, you are very lucky to find that in a box in the middle of a football field. “I know I’m very lucky to find them but I’m not going to wreck them because there to special to me.

Our Trip to the Isle of Wight

In April, ninety-two children from Year Five and ten members of staff embarked on a visit to the Isle of Wight. Our first activity was to look around HMS Victory and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We enjoyed the views on our ferry crossing and were at our accommodation in time to settle into our rooms and tuck into a well-earned fish and chip or pizza dinner. Our first day was capped off with a coastal walk before bed.
Day two brought visits to a castle, where Charles I was imprisoned and donkeys are used to operate a well, and to the Needles Park, where we saw glass blown, sweets made and we created sand sculptures. A day in the sunshine ended with a disco.
Day three included our fossil hunt, a visit to Queen Victoria's amazing house and a relaxing video to round off the day.
On our fourth and final day, we woke, ensured everything was packed and set off to Amazon Zoo World. The zoo was packed with a large variety of species. Then it was a ferry ride and bus back to school - we even made it back on time!
Throughout our trip, we benefited from wonderful weather. The children were kind, polite and showed an interest in the places visited. We did a lot of walking!

Below are some of the children's accounts of what we did:

Some of the children who did not attend the Isle of Wight visit went on a trip of their own:

100 WC Showcase Week 13

I tried, I really did. It wasn’t my fault. Well, not exactly my fault. Okay, mostly my fault. I didn’t mean to, though.

“That doesn’t look very good,” a posh voice from behind me said. I ignored it. “Are you listening? You’ve done it all wrong.” I still said nothing. A small hand grabbed my shoulder and forced me to turn. I saw myself staring at an immaculate desk. The hand pointed proudly at a piece of paper with some circles on. “I’ve seen better,” I managed to say.

It wasn’t my fault. The spot just grew and grew and grew.
